Wait... why are captains secret? Is it a Cluedo game?
I hope that at lest captain know who is captain of his team.

Re: Here are the teams (not that east to read, yet)

The captains were just for the picking process and this was also said when I asked for volunteers. Once the picking process was completed the captains turned into regular players.

This is not a game where a captain automatically leads the team. The teams however can choose a leader if they want to do that.

I submitted a list of ranked players, but don't know if I'm a "captain" lol.
Kevin, I am not trying to poach Wahazar. I'm trying to get Wahazar to play with shoter. We can move them to a third team for all I care. A couple of games ago I was allowed to have my son play with me on my team, and it was very enjoyable. So I know how much fun it is.

Given this situation I now reject all swaps from our team, until some clarity emerges.

Let me know when you're interested in getting friends to play together.

Re: Here are the teams (not that east to read, yet)

I should have used a different word for the captains. They were team pickers or something like that.

For the next team game we need to figure out some way to allow some players to play together. They need to be listed beforehand. Hopefully there will be not too many great players who want to play in the same team. Not saying it would be the case now.

Kevin, are you on Discord? If yes, can you contact me? Or tell me how to contact you?

Re: Here are the teams (not that east to read, yet)

After some discussion with Wahazar, we have another proposition: switching Emilio and Shoter. Since they are both new to multiplayer games, they are at the same initial level. It does not solve the Kunki-Orisson issue, but IIRC fran suggested that they should be together rather than them asking, no?

Also, Shoter will probably not be an idler, which should make Kevin more at ease.

Kevin, cgalik, what do you think about this?

Never talked to Emilio. Shoter is on Discord. Wahazar is very good player. If Shoter is half as good as him, then advantage to you. Fine by me. I am willing to give up a little advantage for other's fun. smile

Good by me.

Yeah it was just Fran asking, not either of them.

You are tickling my pride (while conquering my cities), but I know, thanks to the LT44, how far I am from a top players ability.
I don't know how shoter play civ, I know him from other games, both emilio and shoter claims that they played well single player civ but are new to multiplayer,
thus they are equivalent in my opinion.
Anyway, whole team balance issue is overrated in my opinion, if we take into account that there are 5 teams, not just 2.

Excellent point! And, actually, this was one of the main reasons why this is a multi-team game!

Re: Here are the teams (not that east to read, yet)

It seems to be an okay deal. - Emilio against Shoter? I agree.

Am still finding this secret captain issue strange. I have no idea who our team picker was, so have no clue why emilio was chosen for our team in the first place.
I have no direct knowledge of either emilio or shoter.
It would help me feel easier about this whole trade idea if both of them would actually state that they wanted to be in a different team.

In the first test game Temmikael was included twice, and Petromax was missed out.
I hope this gets fixed for the second test game.

I agree to this change to be with Wahazar.

I do not have big experience in Freeciv though so I do not think that I am as half as good as him but we will see smile.

(I am regarding myself as the captain of Team 3)

No, thank you

If I may suggest a protocol, or, in simpler terms, a limitation.

A team leader can propose a player to be moved from his to other team, OR from other to his team, but not both. Now it's up to the other team's leader to propose the second part of the switch, either from or to his team.

So, either "we give you X, who do you give in retirn" or "you give us Y, who do you want in return".

Xandr, I understand that you did not think this was a good player trade.  Fundamentally I want to make sure that Joy and Alfred are together.

I thought the simplest way to do this would be to swap Alfred for one of the players on Team3.
As per Corbeau's protocol, I propose: Alfred -> Team 3

Re: Here are the teams (not that east to read, yet)

Let's see,
Corbeau - can trade
sigur -  no idea about, won't trade
Hans_Lemurson - not for trade
Joy - not for trade
louis - no idea about, won't trade
pieronjeden - no idea about, won't trade
SKB  - no idea about, won't trade

So unless someone enlightens me I don't see any options (you'd be bonkers to trade corbeau)

Re: Here are the teams (not that east to read, yet)

Hmm...so maybe Joy could go to Team4.

Who would I want in return?
xandr - Trading yourself would cause leadership confusion
Alfred - Would negate the entire purpose of the player swap.
zoltan - Too highly skilled for you to trade away.  Also makes Corbeau mad.
Kingi - Nice guy but much greener than Joy.

rocknrolf - I know very little about rocknrolf.
dion - I know very little about dion.
Lord_P - Solid player, would be happy to trade for Joy

These last three were all together in the winning coalition of LT43, so that probably means they are all at least ok, and very likely know what they are doing.  Lord_P is the only one I have experience with, since we cooperated some in LT44.

I'd be willing to trade for any of these three, but Lord_P is my preference.

So I propose:
Joy -> Team4
{Lord_P | rocknrolf | dion} -> Team3

Ok, rocknrolf for Joy then. Nothing personal, just to make those two happy

Please confirm. We are very close to starting the actual LT45.

Re: Here are the teams (not that east to read, yet)

I just got an email from emilio saying he is fine with the swap shoter to team 1, emilio to team 0.

I much prefer that the players who are going to be swapped get the chance to say yes or no themselves.
