I already suggested these settings for lt31 (see http://forum.longturn.org/viewtopic.php?id=102 , I was 'Steelski' in lt30 but decided to switch to my irc nick for lt31 and ltex23B), but maybe it would be better to test them here, if people agree to it.
akfaew, was the poll formulated clearly enough?
edit: there is just one problem with this approach: there is a 50% chance that either nothing happens or the tech just switches owners. This means people who want to share techs would probably have to log in many times a day sometimes to complete the tech trades, which goes against the ideal of people logging in once a day for 15 minutes or so to make their moves and hitting done afterwards.

I am looking forward to seeing how this works as LT30 has been all about forming big alliances to keep up with research. Until recently this made it quite a slow game without much action.
A game in which the only way to get technologies was to steal it or capture cities would be interesting (Although this could still be abused by alliances willing to be technicaly 'at war' of course).
I set all settings alone, there will be tlgive/tlrecv =0, but there will be new settings which cancel all research, eg. if you research alphabet and you just got it from someone, you will start next tech with 0 bulbs collected.
