The start units and the map

I propose the following:

Map will be similar to LT40 but with 450 tiles / player and 250 specials. For the map there may be this one experiment that will kind of honor the idler experience the web multiplayer had. There will be this one hut. This legendary ancient thing smile

set alltemperate=disabled
set barbarians=disabled
set generator="FRACTAL"
set huts=1
set landmass=40
set mapsize="PLAYER"
set separatepoles=disabled
set specials=250
set startpos="ALL"
set steepness=40
set temperature=50
set tilesperplayer=450
set topology="WRAPX|WRAPY"
set wetness=60
set alltemperate=enabled

The units:

5 settlers and allowing the possibility of adding 2 settlers (by pressing the B key) into one big city that will be of size 3.
7 workers so that the game will have a nice fast start with something you can actually do. workers can also be used to defend the cities.
2 explorers so that everyone can explore the world

Also adding the longboat from LT41 but without the ability to move units with it. Should make the game slightly more social even if you start somewhere where your land access is blocked by another player.

Re: The start units and the map

You could move non-combat units with the longboat, to prevent surprises whose result is based on luck.

Also, is there ever going to be a game without Y wrap?

Re: The start units and the map

How was it for the web-games? Those had wrapping for both directions?

Maybe yeah the merchant units could travel on it...

Web games were wrapped only in X direction.

Not all of them. Game 8 at least was non-wrapping.

Re: The start units and the map

My point was: none were wrapped in Y direction.
